my friend told me that it does, and when itake it off in the morning, it seems like more eye lashes come out than normal. is it all in my head? or is it true?

I wash my face everynight, but never remove my eyeliner/mascara and sleep with it on. I have never lost any more than normal eyelashes and have more eyelashes and longer eyelashes than most of my friends do.

Maybe you should try a washable mascara and one of the new heated eyelash curlers. Be sure not to pull at your lashes or rub your eyes if you do sleep in your mascara. Also, if you must use the water-proof type, use a good mascara or make-up remover when it is time to remove the old mascara. The lashes should not fall out any more than usual by just sleeping in mascara.

I would stop using that brand and switch to a high end brand. I use Lorac...It might be a little bit pricier, but the mascara actually helps grow your lashes back while volumizing and separating them at the same time. Try using Covergirl's Naturelux Mascara. Apparently it contains honey ect so hopefully it will be better for your lashes.

It's not good for your eyelashes and yes, overtime it may weaken your eyelashes and cause it to fall out. Mascara contains so many chemicals. it is advisable to always remove all make up before going to bed. Never leave your make up on overnight or you will develop skin problems.

It is always best to wash off make-up before going to bed. It's better for your skin and doesn't stain your pillowcases.
I can't imagine that leaving sticky black goop on your eyelashes would be good for them. It's like leaving tons of gel in your hair all night.

Hmmmm... Seems to make sense. I've never had that problem though. I use a makeup removing cloth before I go to bed and that gets it off pretty easily, and it's not too time consuming. Tyr that...

I don't know about that, but you need to wash it off before you go to bed. A friend of mine had swollen tear ducts from not taking off her eye makeup. Not fun.
