His family has kept his mythology alive and well. The fact is, he was a terrible President who got little of anything accomplished when he was alive. The reason he went to Dallas in the first place was to try to heal a badly split Democrat Party in that state. His re-election was highly in doubt, and he needed Texas in order to win. Thus the trip to Dallas. He did get us involved in Vietnam, but his family would have you believe he was ready to get us out. Not true. He was ready for escalation. Had he lived, not much would have been accomplished during his Presidency. However, it was sad to see a young family man die so young.

It's the old "Butterfly Effect" theory. Certain events lay the foundation for the rest of the future. We will never know. If there was some way to reverse the clock and have the ability to witness an alternative future it would be no doubt and incredible event. History is what it is. There is no turning back. The real problem with mankind is that he never seems to learn from his mistakes.

No president deserves to be killed while in office. It's true that he didn't accomplish anything during his time in office and he was helped to get elected by Mafia, but that's not a reason to kill the man.
His father was a Nazi supporter and one of his brothers caused the death of his girl friend so the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

No JFK did not have to die in the way he did. NO one deserves that. He was a fine president and would have done so much more had he not been gunned down in the middlie of the street.

Two things.
One, doesn't this website have a spell checker? Please use it. It is free and you can learn things using it. After all, I used it and made sure assassination was spelled correctly.
Two, all Presidents make errors, but I haven't known any who deserved assassination.
We are all going to die some day, but rarely do people deserve to be assassinated.
Regards.

Sorry, but we got involved in Vietnam under Eisenhower and the first poster is right. Please check your spelling. That would be the only thing that you will get right in your post, though.
