If all you have is a 29 gallon you don't have room for breeding angels. A small spawn is 200 eggs, large are 600+. To get them to dime size, the smallest size most shops will take, you will need 1 gallon for every two fish. If you can't provide the tank space don't waste your time, you will end up with dying & deformed fry.
Guessing the sex of angels is flipping a coin if you are looking at juvies. You can come closer to 80% with adults who are settled in, which they won't be at PetSmart. You have to know angels & their behavior, even then it's an educated guess. With adult angels that are the same age the female will often be slightly smaller, and slightly thicker than a male.

your best bet is to make sure the person getting you Angles knows a male from a female. The problem with only getting two one male one female is they may not like each other. Therefore they won't breed.
Angelfish are nearly impossible to sex accurately. Occasionally fully mature males will show a bit of a nuchal hump, which is a bump on the head just above the eyes. However, don't count on it. If you are seeking to establish a mating pair, the best way is to purchase a half dozen immature angels and raise them together. This is unfortunately the only way to ensure a breeding pair.
Also, once you have a breeding pair, never move them to a new tank. Once a breeding pair is together, they should not be moved since this can break the bond between them. When bringing them home the LFS will keep a breeding pair in the same bag.
Unless the store knows they have a breeding pair, or you purchase a half dozen or so there is no way to ensure breeding.

Angel fish are hard to say the sex. I think petsmart only have has female guppies and Betta's and all the other fish are males. I would suggest the you go to a local fish store and ask for a pair. The main sings are that the male will have a little pole sticking from his belly or something like that. THE BEST WAY to determent the sex is to get 6,but in your case i will go to a breeder or action:) Females are noticeable when they are pregnant. They will have a larger belly.

There is a way to make an educated guess, involving the angle between the ventral fin and the body line, however this requires some experience to detect. To obtain pairs go ahead and raise 6 or 8 Angels together like everybody else and learn from that.I think that what you want is for someone to do the work for you.

Have you ever kept Angels before? If not perhaps you should just concentrate on keeping them. Breeding just happens when you start off on the right foot and care for them properly. Most common cichlids, including angels, will breed regularly and for anyone, they're certainly no challange beyond establishing the original pair, yet this is the only phase you want to skip.
In your 29 gallon you can start off with 4 and the odds are still in your favour that a pair will form out of them.

Chances of getting a breeding pair from Petsmart are about the same odds as winning the lottery.
Breeding pairs from reputable dealers start around $100. Angelfish mate for life, and unlike some other fish, are very fussy about who they choose.

Ditto to Danielle. You just can't sex juvenile angels reliably. You really can't sex adults reliably either, but in juveniles it's really impossible to be reliable. Even if you can a male and a female doesn't always equal a pair.
