Isn't believing that the UN will do something good for the world the biggest superstition of all?

I don't see anyone trying to use the UN to deny established science.

Your comparison makes no sense. Define "good." You think the UN has never done anything worthwhile? Towards hunger, or disease in the world? You think giving all the nations in the world a forum to voice their concerns hasn't been useful in preventing another World War?

I think the South Koreans might argue that the UN was helpful in helping them to retain their very existence. That wasn't just the US, you know.

You need to take some remedial courses in logic and debate. Just because you can ask a foolish, nonsense question doesn't mean that you should.

because it's a superstition of the liberals to believe that the conservatives/religious people believe in superstitions......the UN is just a pawn for both liberals and conservatives...

Who says we believe in the UN?I am a great supporter of what the UN could be,not what it is now.But I believe blaming the UN is like blaming a car for going nowhere while the drivers are sleeping in the backseat. You can have the best car in the world,if you don't get behind the wheel,it will take you nowhere.
The UN is a tool and I believe it could be a great valuable tool to come or get closer to the ultimate goal ,lasting world peace .
It's up to the world community, and that's ALL of us, to choose to use it properly.

I don't think the UN is a superstition. I tried to walk through the Secretariat Building and I hit my head real hard.

Yes! Libs are foolhardy to believe that the UN can do any good, it has become a 'good ole boy's club'.

To the answerer above me, yes it is all due to America, if it weren't for us the UN would be nothing. America is always there to help all nations with or without the UN. And yes, America is the one behind S. Korea.

So ...let me get this straight you don't understand why anyone would put faith in an international organization committed to peace and international justice etc. rather than just sit and pray?...is that the question...or what...or is this just a vehicle for your rant about the UN. and your mistrust of the UN stems from.......? they are not a rubber stamp for US policy? So can we assume that in Your opinion God is a rubber stamp for US policy? ....I believe in God and I have more faith in the UN to take action than just praying .......Sorry your nuts though.

Um, no. For example, the UN was used effectively by George Bush, the other one, to gain support from most nations in kicking Iraqi troops out of Kuwait, and, we, and they, were better for it, in the early 90's.

Unless you are elevating the UN to the status of a religion your question makes no sense.

I know quite a few liberals who believe in Tarot cards, psychics, and Horoscopes. They celebrate "Winter Solstice" go to goddess circes, and walk around in labrynths.
