No since the snipe hunt is the age old gag you play on new campers at a campout and the so called "snipe" described does not exist, there are various versions of this hunt, the classic involves the one fooled holding a bag for a bird that runs on the ground, there is a real bird called a snipe however it does not run on the ground
this is all very similar to sending someone out to the other camps looking for a left handed smoke shifter, if this occurs aquire a paper plate and trace both your left and right hands on opposite sides and say you did better and returned with an ambidextrous smoke shifter
being from West (by god) Virginia my cubscout/webalows troop had a whole other twist on the snipe hunt, snipes were ppl that lived in the woods in trees and they were the products of inbreeding and you had to watch out cause they would get you, while similar legends were the subject of the horror movie wrong turn, i know of no evidence that these snipes exist either since no we never did find one on our snipe hunts for them, we did shine a lot of flashlights into a lot of trees

No. A snipe hunt is a fool's errand. My former step-dad tried to send me on one about 20 years ago. What an ******.

no i've never hunted or will....i find it unfair for the animal
but i've heard snipes are extremely hard to hunt-that's why it takes a 'sniper' to hunt them.....it's where the word came from
