More with these silly generalizations?
This simply isn't true. As a former Democrat in a long-term relationship with a former Republican, I can tell you that everyone is different and cannot be marginalized by such a label as political party.

It might have something to do with dealing with reality . In the world today there are people that hate anything and everything. They live to kill people who do not believe the way they do. Standing up to this terror has nothing to do with fear. It is more like being on the offensive so that these type of people know that we will not tolerate terror no matter what they try to do.
The Dems are not afraid of their own Government, they only want more Government control over our country. They believe in a more socialist type of Government like most of Europe has. They believe more in the new world order rather than independent countries working together.

I agree with the asker, Republicans tend to be more afraid of the world - which explains their tendency to support large militaries, and to go to war first, and ask questions later.
The Republican leaders simply have to say X country or Y person is an "evil" enemy, and their followers simply hop on the bandwagon and yell "Kill 'em," "Nuke 'em", or whatever, all in the name of "freedom" & "national security".
The military itself is overwhelmingly conservative Republican, probably over 80-90%. They don't mind Big government, as long as its Big Military or Police. To them, Force is the first & Final Solution to all political, social, or international problems.
Their fear is based upon ignorance, of the unknown, of what they don't understand. They can't tell you the difference between socialism & communism, nor can they tell you why our ex-ally Bin Laden hates the US. They don't have any in-depth knowledge of the rest of the world - which is why they have so few Arab experts & rely on guns instead of understanding. All they can tell you is that "Islamofascists" & "Communists" hate us and want to kill us all..... but they really can't tell you why.
Whether it was communist Russia & China, terrorists like Al-Qaeda, "rogue" states like Iran or Korea... the US foreign policy is nearly always the same. Threaten. Attack. Kill. Terminate. Over & over again. And then they wonder why we have a reputation for Warmongering Imperialism. Well, they don't really wonder - they don't give a damn. They think anybody who isn't like them or with them is just simply against them - and an enemy of America.
Diplomacy? Dialogue? World opinion & consensus? UN resolutions? All for wimps, in their opinion. That's why the US State Department only gets $10 billion/year, or 1% of the federal budget, while the US Department of Defense & Pentagon, get $450+ billion/year, or 50%.
The US has 7,000 nukes, 737 overseas military bases in 130 countries worldwide, and spends more money on the military than the next 20 countries combined... how insecure & insane is that??? This is definitely a fear-based & greed-based foreign policy.

Liberals deny the fact that there are evil people in this world that are governed by religious beliefs and charters which pursue the killing of those who do not pray to Allah. They refuse to learn from history that there are people who are willing to do good people harm. They live in a dream world where they believe that you can reason and make friends with anyone.
Liberals do not fear goverment either. They work hord to legislate ... well, EVERYTHING. They believe that there is no such thing as personal responsibility, that everyone should think alike and no one should have an advantage. What then is the incentive for people to work harder? None. This was called socialism and it never worked. They push legistation which governs every aspect of people's lives as if we did not have the capacity do make good decisions (seatbelt laws, gun laws, affirmative action, eminant domain...)
Consrvatives place trust in the people. Government is best, which governs least. And we do not screw around with other people (nations) which mean to cause harm to our citizens. We have one obligation and that is to protect the American way of life. Democrats want to turn us into socialists.

Ever heard the phrases "liberal Republican" or "conservative Democrat?" How, then, would people with such philosophies fit into your neat little package?

Conservatives aren't afraid of women, they just know that Hillary and Pelosi are more interested in their own power than they are in the welfare of the country. They have an addiction to power.
