Why/How do computers use diamonds?

I know that computers have dimonds in them but I do not know what for.

if you have an old fashioned record player, it might have a diamond tip on the stylus. there are no diamonds found in computers unless someone puts them in a laptop to try and smuggle past customs.

they are just part of the computer chips that make the computer work.
