far left, far right?... then there are the middle people that say, can't we all get along?
Through struggle there is growth.. I rail against the neoconservative bias that I see everywhere in our society, because it's "Evil"..but the people in the middle dilute the conversation with their fear of either side..
if there is a "Liberal" element in our society it is them..
if something is wrong.. it;s wrong.
Violence, greed, wanton waste, religious intolerance..all manifestations of a reckless right wing, this needs to be corrected else we turn into the new Nazi nation that the neocons are working so hard for.
don't you middle people realize that you allow them to further their objectives with your squeamishness?
history is littered with this kind of thinking..

I believe you are right.Middle of the road being good or bad depends solely on where and when you are. There was nothing good about being middle of the road in Nazi Germany or in Nazi occupied Europe but still the people fighting and dying to try to stop the madness were considered fanatics at that time.Being middle of the road today in Communist China is nothing to be proud about,it means you accept and tolerate prosecution of Christians and no political freedom. There's nothing good about being middle of the road in Iran,it means accepting that women and homosexuals are stoned to death.

In reasonable circumstances at a reasonable point in history being middle of the road is probably a good thing.Everyone has to decide for him or herself where we are today.Great question

It is not squeamishness that has me disagreeing with the fringe elements, but my own views on the world we live in. You are allowed to your view, but mine is wrong because you don't agree with it? Is that any different than the neo-cons you rant against?

You are misinformed.

The middle people are firmly against the neocon and ultra-right extremists.

Who do you think elected all those Democrats last November?
