Now I know they've only played 3 games and the first month of the season really doesn't have a huge outcome on the standings, but looking at their talent and how their pitching has held on so far, I don't think it's out of the question to put the guys in 3rd in the AL East. Your thoughts?

Oh don't worry, I'm a White Sox fan I'm just wondering if they are the real deal. I already know that the first week of the season proves virtually nothing.

The hitting on the Devil Rays IS the real deal. The problem they have is that their pitching is just flat out awful. Except for Kazmir, the rotation sucks.

The reason their hitting is so good, though, is because all their last place finishes result in higher draft picks. As a result, guys like Young, Crawford, Upton, Dukes, and Longoria come from the farm system. Of course, if they would draft the top pitching prospects their rotation might improve...

The fact is if they can manage to hold on to their players for a little while longer, the Devil Rays have the capability of winning the AL East in 4-5 years.

That's what early Spring and baseball season is all about, expecting the unexpected and hoping for things to happen. I myself am a Pirate fan, so I can sympathize with all the D-Rays' fans out there. I am pumped this season because for the first time since 1992, I think the Bucs will have a winning season and it doesn't hurt that they are 3-1 so far. Yes, the D-Rays have a lot of young and talented players and IF they all play up to their potential (pretty hard to do, but possible), they might just get very close to the .500 mark. It hurts them pretty bad though that they are in a division with two of the best teams in the game and get outspent something awful. I definitely know the feeling there...Just hope for the best and if you're a real fan, you'll support your team no matter what.

D-rays seem to have a better team than the Orioles who most likely will finish in last place.

They have been playing the Yankees so we need to wait till they play a team with good pitching before we can predict where they will be.

Definetly not 1st.
They do have some competition with NY and Boston. But right now, they're first in their division, but i don't think it'll stay that way for too long.

The Devil Rays have a better chance of finishing in 3rd place than do the chicago whiny sux, and that's a fact.

Third place in their division would be realistic, especially if the Orioles do a big collapse which they may well do.

Chow!!
