To be honest, I'm gay and I admit that it is uncomfortable using the mens public toilets as the hygene of some of them is unbelievable and downright discusting every time. I have used the ladies when necessary as they are certainly cleaner. Usually I preffer to wait until I get home anyway. I think at the end of the day, there should be seperate facilitys for being as abnormal as you trying to separate individuals (and you cant say thats normal). I certainly don't get turned on in the gents. Its way more of a turn off.

You forgot about the disabled having their own toilets!

Sorry but i am not gay, queer or abnormal and at the age of 60 i think i have heard all the put downs that heterosexual can use for us and what i think about the toilet situation should be as in other countries, one toilet for all sexes

I am gay and when I go to the toilet it is just for that reason not any other and i am the same as the greater majority of gays the only ones that use the toilets for other reasons and the weirdo's so why on earth should we have separate toilets i think you need to get yourself looked at

Ah but we're not abnormal.

However to answer your question, I think we'd need about 8 seperate bathrooms. Plus we'd need a way to identify people as to their sexual orientation.

Let me break it down.
1- Straight males
2- straight females
3- gay males
4- lesbians
5- bisexual men(which would be a doozy to enforce)
6- bisexual women(again another doozy)
7- transgendered men
8- transgendered women

So from 2 bathrooms to 8, and that's hoping that everyone would actually go to their specific bathrooms, instead of just lying about it all. Oh and you'd have to have a way to check if someone is a closeted gay man or not.

Point is, if you are insecure about having other men look at you in the bathroom, use a stall, save us all the hassle.

I already use the gay restroom. It's the one that says "men" on the door.

Actually, I'm so glad your idea will never happen, because now it will be fun to check out you scared heteros at the urinal, just to tick you off. If you aren't gay, why the heck do you care whether another guy sees your pecker or not? It's not the same as a girl seeing it because all guys have the same equipment. What's the big stinking deal. You seriously need to get over yourself and your obsession with your pecker!

Go to France and other countries where men/women, gay/straight all use the same communcal loo, so there is no 'obvious' about separation at all. As public spending gets further cut, it already has been in the UK, public services will diminish and you're unlikely to see this being regarded as a vote winner!

Good luck! Rob

Gosh, and HOW do you plan on deciding who's gay or not? Will there be some awesome, newfangled piece of equipment at the door of every public restroom that deciphers which man is gay and which is not?

Seriously, take a step back and look at yourself. You are not benefitting society in the least. You are making yourself look like a waste of flesh. Are you?

I think you should be more concerned with toilet fetishists than queers... I can't say I have ever met someone who got turned on in a bathroom... I don't think this is a very big problem.

You are just being silly.

It's not 'like a man going into the female toilets'. Don't be so stupid. There really are a lot of halfwits of Yahoo answers.

Women need different toilets because:

1 - They have a different physiology that requires different toileting facilities.
2 - They are easy prey for perverted men

Men are not easy prey for gay men. You've probably beaten up a lot of 'gays' in your time, so you should know that men can fight back where women can't.
