It's usually a little grid thing in the bottom of your dishwasher which traps any lumpy bits so the washing arms don't become clogged. It should be easy to lift out, remove and rinse under a running tap.
Best thing to do is rinse off your plates etc before putting them in the dishwasher, and your food trap won't become clogged. A clogged food trap can be very smelly!

Pull out the bottom rack and you should see a strainer over the drain pump inlet. It is held in place with 2-3 screws, depending on who made it. The biggest problem with dishwashers is food particles and broken glass that is small enough to get through the strainer grid gets to the pump and tears it up. The extra effort of rinsing dishes before putting them in the dishwasher usually makes a difference in how long the dishwasher lasts.

there's a catch or strainer positioned on the bottom the position the drain is. they could on occasion get clogged up. the most elementary indicator of that's if on the end of the cycle there is water status contained in the bottom. oftentimes you could Google your dishwasher make and style and locate internet internet sites that can furnish you with unique step via step guidelines to fix the priority.

It is usually under the blade housing on the bottom of the tub, I believe you can take off the housing to get to the disposer part of the dishwasher. Good Luck !

Automatic dishwashers flush water and waste into the garbage disposer, if there is one. I have never seen a dishwasher with a cleanout.

On mine it's at the back right side. It has a kinda screen over it to catch the food particles.
