I believe the sum of what both (1) and (2) mean is:
"I care about you - dammit"
In the ebb and flow of a relationship, a display of anger is a sign of a problem, but its also a sign that you still care.
Neat Question.

Obviously, mixed emotions. Have been there. They say you have to hate someone before you love them.
If you said, you hate me, I really know you love me.
Mixed feelings can be a *****. Talk through them.
Love always conquers.

Since I don't know you, I'm not sure how i would react to you telling me you love me, but if you said I hate you I'd probably say "I'm sorry you feel that way, but that's your perogative"

I would look at you. Then go get something to eat. Then watch TV, or sleep, or homework, or whatever I was doing.
