They are fairly close in speed.

Unless you are doing advanced programs like CAD or extreme gaming, you won't notice the difference.

Either one is ok.

AMD is a 64bit processor which is more expandable later down the road. Intel Core Duo is 32bit. AMD is going to be faster for you.

AMD have a slower clock speed, but a faster bus speed.

AMD generally out perform Intel in tests.
