How do I refragment and erase all the programms on my computer to re-install windowns and start new? I have a worm and that is the only way that I can fix my laptop.

boot up with the system disk, and just do a fresh install - it should reformat the partition as it goes.

Re-formating your pc and re-installing all your programs sounds a very drastic way to remove a worm. Try an online scan to confirm that it is a virus/worm that's causing you problems. If it is, you should be able to remove it without doing anything so drastic. If it's not, a re-format & re-install may not solve your problems anyway.

If you want to wipe the drive clean and reinstall, simply boot from the XP CD
Delete all 'partitions'. This is very important!!!
Then format and install Windows in the next step.

go to command prompt make sure you are on c:\> and type in format c:\
