Burn the files to CD or DVD then copy to the other machine. If they are on the same network who cares about DSL, copy and past from one machine to the other.

Use something like PC Anywhere, or VNC http://www.uvnc.com/index.html , or even remote desktop with file sharing enabled. This will NOT be a fast transfer as your UPLOAD speed will be the limitation on how fast the files will get moved.
You could use an FTP program for reliablity You can get WARFTP server and client for that purpose.
You can also try GotoMyPC http://gotomypc.com it uses a VPN from Cirtix and is secure.
