i have a 1990 efi range rover running on duel fuel. it keeps blowing the pipe that joins the air flow metre to the plenum chamber. put a brand new pipe on 2 days ago, and it has just blown it to bits.
any ideas as to what the problem is.

Sounds as though you have a timing problem. The fuel is igniting prematurely sending pressure though the plenum.

Thought you would hear the vehicle popping especially under exceleration.

An different air-fuel ratio sensor is required.

Spark timing is monitored by two sensors, one on the crankshaft & one on the cam.

Do you propose they are sparkling orange because of the fact they are so warm, or are you merely concerning the rusty shade? in the event that they are getting warm adequate to glow, your engine has probable have been given subjects. in case you merely prefer to paint some rusty pipes, examine around and notice what you will discover - the two use paint it rather is particularly for motor vehicle pipes, or they make it for bbq grilles/fireplaces etc. that works merely besides. some promote the means to make the rust into primer so as which you do no longer could do as lots prep artwork.

it's a problem with the gas, who ever fitted it should have fitted a blow off flap so as it dose'nt cause any damage when it back fires, try switching to fuel before shutting the engine down and starting on fuel then switching to gas when warm. defiantly have it checked by a proper gas installer.

Hi

This is a problem with the gas installation and you need to get it back to the installers for repair before it destroys your air flow meter. It is probably the injection timing.
