My sister has an ipod and I'm planning to get one. If we both have ipods, how do I get my own account on itunes?

you create one.

Are you sharing the same computer? If it's XP, do you each have your own login account? If so, each of you will run iTunes from your XP login.

iTunes is two things. There is the iTunes store, which you could have a common account for or you each could have your own account. Then there is iTunes the "jukebox" application that runs on your PC. For that, unless you want to have your iPods have exactly the same songs/playlists etc... you need your own instance of the application.

My suggestion is that you each have an account at the iTunes store and that you each run your own instance of the iTunes application.
