If u had a laparscopic hysterectomy(where they take everything out through the belly button) you'll have more pain & gas. For a good bowel movement try (citrus of magnesium) it comes in a small bottle. They use this on patients to clean them out before certain procedures--just drink 1/2 the bottle & give it 2-3 hours & u will be cleaned out. good luck feel better xoxDonnaP

It's the pain meds they have you on. Keep up the fiber and push the fluids. The dr should have given you a stool softener with the pain meds. Call the dr for a prescription strength laxative, or try an over the counter one.

Drink a lot of prune juice!!! Keep taking the fiber your doctor prescribed...but if you drink a few cups of prune juice, its pretty much guaranteed that you'll go! Good luck!
You can also try colace, it is a stool softener that will help you go! It is over the counter....it may also be called docusate sodium...cvs, walmart, and other places like those have them.

Call the doctor. There are still more things they can help you with. But you also need to keep getting lots of water with your fiber and if you are not getting enough to drink this will play into it as well.

Metamucil worked very well for me after my C-section. It takes about 10-12 hours to produce a BM, but you do not feel that cramping and discomfort of a laxative.

Milk of Magnesia. You can take it and 6-8 hours later relief.
We use this in the hospital and it is non-adictive. You can use it as often as you need it. Drink lots of water.

It may be the meds your on...research them and see if that is a side affect.
Then call back the doctor to insist on help.
See if she/he will let you take a stool softener.
