I was a chimney before finally quitting smoking about 2 months back, now till the time i was a smoker i never had any thraot problems, now i feel this choking and irritation in my throat... whats it?

When you smoke it paralyzes the cilia in your lungs. After you stop they "wake up" again, and start doing their job of removing the bad stuff from your lungs.

Odds are that is what you are feeling. Also, as it is spring, allergins are high and you may be feeling the effects of that.

That´s normal. When I quitted I had the same problem and even started coughing at night while my sleeping and lost my voice for a week. Your body is just getting clean and taking out nicotine. Don´t worry and.... Congratulations on your choice.
