I thought I was the only one that cared about things looking cozy! I never even see that word used anymore! Round out the rooms by putting things like chairs in the corner. If you have a love seat, you might want to angle that. Drapes! That really helps to warm up a room. My mother had a trick that was really great. Make your windows look larger by extending the rod past the window. Let the curtains fall down over the walls but it looks like that's part of the window. She even put some curtains behind a bed and everyone thought it was a window. It really helped that boring space. I also saw a decorater on Oprah do this. This couple had two small, ugly windows in their bedroom that their bed faced and he put up drapes that extended past the dinky windows that spanned from one end of the wall to the other. Understand what I mean? Mirrors! I had to add this one. Even though it's not what you would associate with "warmth," nothing makes a room look better than a few mirrors. Buy mirrors that are of a significant size, not a tiny cluster of several or anything like that. Mirrors open up the space and almost are like adding windows. When you move, and take them down you won't believe how much worse things look! Floor rugs! Lighting is also a good suggestion.

When my daughter climbs into bed with me and my husband. Shes so cuddly.
Also warm blankets, a cup of cappuccino, and a good book on a snowy day.

I feel "cozy" when I "snuggle" with my kids in their beds watching "Pinocchio" and when we all "giggle" about cartoons.
