EVERY right comes with a corresponding responsibility. I'm not talking legislation here, this is Life. All religions have the teaching of responsibility fairly high on their 'to do' list. "As ye sow, so shall ye reap" is one. The understanding of karma is another. 'Enforcing' responsibilities is done legally by the courts, but that's a very small part of life.

The formula is simple enough.. one person's rights are others' responsibility to ensure the rights of the individual are allowed to be enjoyed. Thus every right stands on the firm footing of corresponding responsibility. This however is applicable only in countries like the UK, USA etc. where the principle of equality is well established and practiced. It is when the equality principle is diluted through privileged classes, groups etc. that there can be rights without corresponding responsibility.

Assuming you don't take on responsibilities, like children, then your only responsibility is to respect the rights of others in the same way that you want your rights respected.

once you are an adult, then yes,,,,,, i believe children have rights without responsibilites,,,,,
adults have many rights, such as the right to live violence free,,,,, they also have a responsibility to be violence free,,,,,, to raise their children this way,,,,, and to support their police dept (that handle, hopefully, the violent ones),,,,,,, meaning be a part of their community,, in order to protect their rights,,,
you have a right to live where you wish to,, your responsibility is to support yourself, pay for what you need to live there
it is hard to force responsibility on others,,,, though our laws sometimes step in and try
