When you brush your teeth, do you add a little water to your mouth to brush with or is that just me?

Question

When I start to brush I take a sip of water, but instead of swallowing it, I just hold it in my mouth and then start brushing, so the toothpaste can have something to mix with.

Kind of like taking a shower.........you want to be wet first and then later up.

But with brushing, I've noticed on TV other people just stick the toothbrush/paste in their mouth right away----dry-----and start brushing.

Is this the way you do??

I do believe that both the toothbrush and my mouse should be wet.but I do swallow the water in order to make the toothpaste concentrated and not diluted with the water.unless it will have no effect of killing germs.
but the strange issue is that people think that I'm weird to make my mouth wet first but that's what I think.

I put some toothpaste on the dry toothbrush, then I dunk the toothbrush under the running water for a second so it all gets wet, then I brush.

I had an x-boyfriend that used to brush his teeth with HOT water. I thought that was odd.

I don't hold the water in my mouth, but I do rinse my mouth and the brush with water first. Just enough to wet them.

Oh and I brush my teeth with hot water too. Must be a guy thing.

hahaha,i'v always wondered that too. Yeah i do use water too. I don't know why i do it. I guess it's so the toothpaste can foam up more and spread out. Yeah, but have you realized that on tv, whenever they brush, they spit and they have no toothpaste on their mouth or anything! they always come up clean. i think it looks better when they just start brushing haha. I don't know whetehr othr people brush dry though. I know people who don't use water and others who do.

hey i do the same and yes ive always noticed on tv in the movies they just start brushing without any water, also ive noticed they dont rinse, they just spit and put the toothbrush in the holder and walk away. so i have figured, thats how they do it in the movies, they must have like this standard rule for when a scene has someone brushing their teeth in it , they dont rinse.

I put the toothpaste/brush under the tap first, brush my teeth, rinse and spit, then put the brush straight back in my mouth and go over it again...then spit.

Slightly different to what you do. heh. Nothing worse than "dry" toothpaste when it comes to brushing teeth.

I didn't realize people brushed their teeth different. I tell you what, I always put the toothpaste on the brush then put it under the water for a second then put it in my mouth and brush. yep, thats what I do.

I put toothpaste on my brush, run the brush under water and then start brushing.
