Hunger, sleep, shelter and mating are common to both human and animals. But man is endowed with mind and thinking fecility and intelligence. What really man achieve with the extra fecility. It seems he is mostly hoarding wealth, satisfied with enjoying earthly pleasure, He is greedy and selfish mostly. How you can say he is benefitted by the discrimination and intelligence.

Actually you have answered your question.Because of the intelligence man got himself isolated from animal and nature.
He became selfish and attacked everything for his gains, lust, jealous, ego, power and started killing others even his own brothers and sisters.

Animals eat, sleep and breed. They never hoard, save for their son/relatives, control the world and bomb and kill others. He developed guns, atomic bombs, aircraft and plundered the nature. Polluted the atmosphere. Is this intelligence required?

Firstly I can't agree with your premise. Animals do indeed show signs of discrimination and certainly intelligence. Dolphins are reportedly the second most intelligent species on the planet and they have it sussed - sodding around in the Mediterranean all day is infinitely preferable to having to go to work every day surely? I would say it makes them the most intelligent species on the planet, not the second.

Man, allegedly as the most intelligent, has learned how to fashion tools and communicate abstract thought, which has led to an explosion in technological advancement. The benefits most of us in the western world at least enjoy, are sufficient food to allow us recreation time for the creation of art, or to waste on these forums, or to educate ourselves better; transport to allow us to travel to work and to holiday; a high standard of living; a comfortable home with proper heating; sanitary living conditions; improved health; prolonged life; etc., etc.

Your view is too narrow and too pessimistic - the benefits of our intelligence are enormous and by no means restricted to the accumulation of wealth.

you cant generalize humans (who are also animals), yes , some are the negative things you mention,,,,,, but not most,,,, plus enjoying wealth and earthly pleasures does not necessarily mean you dont also enjoy spiritual things also,,,,,,,, many people are not greedy and selfish,,,, just look at all the charity work, done for both humans and other animals, that goes on in the world,,,,,,

What can not man achieve because of his faculities? There is nothing if he resolves.
