is it possible in court to blame your crime(s) on drugs with an insanity plee?

It's been tried time and time again.
Once the court appointed psychiatrists are through with you.....you haven't got a chance.

The only way you would get away with that plea is if the drugs did enough permanent damage to render you a public threat. Then you get to spend the rest of your life in the Waldorf Hysteria.

No...you blame your crime on intoxication...and it would be voluntary intoxication since you chose to take drugs...There are 3 different tests that states use but the basics are that you must have been intoxicated to the point that you did not understand what you were doing and it negates the mental state required.

Drug use never raises to insanity...and the voluntary intoxication standard is difficult to meet...usually it will lower the charge not make you innocent altogether.

Personally, I believe in the "Dennis Miller principle"! If you are claiming "temporary insanity" then every once in a while ... we will dig up your victim. If they are still DEAD, then you had better be laughing like Woody Woodpecker when we pass your cell!
