I think it's part of the famous "double standard": Men have a set of rules- different from women's!

It is considered "normal" for a man to leave his wife and kids for a pretty, younger woman....The famous "trophy wife"....
(They tend to forget that if they have money now it's not only because they are smart and worked hard; but also because their wives took care of their kids and stood up behind him and cheered him on when things were tough at the beginning.) Many wives actually gave up their own dreams of studying or doing more with their lives because they thought their marriage would last for a lifetime.

Suddenly...BINGO! It's mid-life crisis and the man needs "suffocated", is "confused", feels "lost" and "unmotivated" ...plus he starts to feel old. So he decides to see if a younger woman will find him attractive and will make him feel virile and sexy again....

Look at Michael Douglas and his new wife...Picture perfect!

But...If an attractive older lady does this same thing..OMG!
It's considered a disgrace and it's a major scandal.....!The same thing is NOT seen as the same thing..Double standard.

Then again....We all know life isn't fair, right?

Age has nothing to do with love. I dont think you can generalise here. A man will not usually stray unless there is a problem within the marriage. If they get love and understanding and intimacy from someone they have connected with, then age doesnt come into it. While I guess it doesnt happen that often, I dont think you can say men will leave their wife based on age alone. I think there are some men who go through a mid life crisis whereby they feel they still "have it" only when they are with a younger woman...but I dont think thats the norm. I think marriages break up because of a lot of reasons......age, I believe, is not the major cause why men/women cheat. I lived with a man who was 17 years younger than me....he turned me off younger men for good.....lol. I am now with a 55 year old man and have never been happier.....Its usually the connection you have with that person that determines your comptibility, not the age.

actually it's not so uncommon. Younger man/older woman...
doesn't seem to fit but there are a lot of men who find older woman more comfortable to be with for a number of reasons and these are some of them.
1) Older women are more in tune with the needs of men.
2) Older women have more confidence and style acquired from past experience.
3) Older women are not pushy or demanding or expectant.
I could go on and on but however these are some of the qualities that younger men find so intriguing. Older women will always have a plus when it comes to sex, conversation, food, (a double plus!) and a level head.

This is slightly off the subject. I'd like to put my two cents in for the comedic value. Points I could care less.

Ten years ago I had the duty of driving my 15 daughter and her 22 year old neighbor girl friend to the MALL (where else?)
The 22 year old girl was very attractive and dressed in a professional outfit.
As we strolled through the mall we noticed the customers checking us out...What's up with that? Then the light went on.
They thought the young woman was with me.
We walked together when my daughter ren from this store to that. Just walking.
For the fun, and to see what damage we could do to the look-e-lou's we agreed to my daughter wasking a few feet behind and the young woman and I walked side by side only this time we held hands....No big deal......Ya Sure! The reaction!

The women, my age and older looked at me with utter disgust. You'd think I was Chester The Molester...Quick hid the kid's!
The men had a typical male reaction as our society is focused around looking yourtful.
They they were with their wive's, women in their age bracket walking towards us wit h the same wink, the look....you lucky bastard.......Envy to the max.
By the way, why is it you never see a beautiful young woman walking hand in hand with an old guy.....who's no wealthy?
What's really a hoot is ego some of these overweight, potbellied old farts actually believes........ she married him for his personality, charm, his wisdom.....looks never mattered, Sure he had big bucks, big house, but she'd live with him in a shack if he lost everything........
Clint Eastwood. Michael Dougless a both married to women young enough to be their daughter's. It's none of my business, to each his own. But Come-ON Dirty harry, IT'S THE MONEY!
YOUR HAIR, YOUR LOOKS, YOUR BODY SHOW YOU ARE 70......
I had my share of younger women in a companionship relationship, not sexual.
Just talking with these cute young ladies a few hours gave me headaches, (just-kidding).
But really, I'm 62. If I married a woman of twenty two it would be because I needed a nurse due to extream delusions of grander with a touch of brain damage.

When I was 22 I dated five or six afftactive, educated, very attractive older women. You old old women....45 or less.
We'd go out to dinner, I paid of course being he gentelman I was and after a few drinks we'ed go to my place and engage in physical activities.
Being all of twenty-two and knowing how sophisticated how mature I must be I actually believed my intellect, my charm. Was their attraction.
You know what!
I think they (used-me) I was just a play toy, a show piece, boo-hooo, poor me. Gee that never happens today. Hmmmm?

Young men want to be good......and can't.
Old men want to be bad.....and can't.....OW's wit.

Ben Franklin wrote a witty ditty, a sort of advice from an older man to a young man about women.
I don't remember the whole piece just a few words.
He said something like, "Remember this young man, not only are older women more ready to please you but think!
All women look the same in the dark.
Case Closesd!

Let me see.......... Man leaves 50 year old woman because in her forties she started to change........ She became a ***** ! Then after many years of listening how she traded all her good years to be with you and you wasted her life and so on ... You say screw you and leave her miserable ***...
Now your our there dating and trying to get your life back on track you meet a woman who is younger than you, she is beautifully and active and likes doing a lot of things that you do and you just feel soo alive to be with her .... What do you do? Do you say , boy we have soo much fun together I'm sure glad we met or do you say it's been fun but your younger than me and people may think were not a good mach because of or age difference so we must not see each other anymore and i need to find someone my age.
You say i'm glad were together and let people talk if they want. I'm happy with you.

Sex!! Man is looking for a young hottie to make him feel young again. An older woman is not valued in our society. A younger woman is considered an upgrade!!!

Usually it's mid life crisis time. But things are changing now. Women are dating younger men and some say whats good for the goose is good for the gander. lol I personally prefer my man to be close to my age. More in common.

Men are attracted not only to physical beauty but by the promise of fertility. If I were a guy who never wanted to have children again, I would gravitate naturally to older women, thinking that having babies is not a priority with them. But if I had even the slightest tolerance for starting a familly, I would grab a young girl 'off the shelf' still in her original packaging, and go for it!

I have to disagree with that one.. Some of us, myself included prefer an older lady. We've been with the younger girls and decided that the games weren't worth the hassle. An older lady knows what she wants and isn't afraid to ask for it.
Hat's off to the older generation!
