First, of all, I KNOW how to insert borders and page numbers in a document. It's just that when I try to print them I always lose the bottom of the border and the lower half of the number. I have tried resetting the page size, margins etc, but I can't fix it. The printer is a HP PSC. Please help!

All printers have margin setting as well. These are area where the printer can not print. You can find these settings in the printers properties/settings. Try resizing your document to the printers limitations.

In the print business we sometimes have to printer on a larger sheet of paper and cut it down after.

Just check the physically the size of the paper loaded into the printer and selected in the driver are same or not.

The problem reported by you happens when Actually the paper is of A4 size and in the driver its mentioned as "Letter".

If this is not the reason check margin setting. Remember most of the ink jet printer can not print in the last 8 to 10 mm of the page.

It's still a margin setting.

Also, you might want to delete the printer, reboot, and reinstall it with the latest drivers.
