It means you are having a very light period, and it is brown because the blood isn't being expelled from your uterus quickly, probably also why it is lasting so long, it is taking a long time for all the blood to come out. Do you get much in the way of cramps? Maybe your uterus isn't contracting enough. It might be normal, but I would ask a doctor to be on the short side. Very light periods with little cramping could be an indication of hormone problems. Also if you are under 18 your periods may not have settled down yet. Being under/over weight or exercising a lot could be the reason.
Dont stress over it as stress also affects your periods.
So chat to a doctor soon and try not to worry too much.

My periods have always been that way right towards the end and it seems to last forever . The brown part seems to come alot slower than the regular red part. Ive always understood it to be the last of the blood to find its way out. brown because its old . I am 42 and have always had normal (like clockwork )
periods . Day 1 normal day 2 and 3 heavy, day 4 lighter, day 5,6,7 light and after that brown for awhile. I find it annoying but I don't think I would worry too much about it, just ask your gyn next time you have your yearly exam to be sure.

Dried blood is brown so that might be the case, but lasting from 1 - 2 weeks sounds a bit strange. Why not see your doctor. Hope this helps xXx

Blood that is brown is just old blood. It could possibly happen like that throughout the entire period but I would go ahead and double check with your dr to be on the safe side.

Yes it's completely normal. It's the womb shedding its lining. When you have brown period, it can hurt a little bit [major cramps!!] at least I do anyway!!
But if your period lasts around one to two week and it is normal for you, that's okay!! if it isn't normal, see a doctor!!

Hope i helped!!

no 2 womans periods are the same if your having a funny odor with it it might be an infection somewhere which can go undetected like a urine infection but if theres nothing but the brown dont worry much about it but to put your mind at rest see a female nurse

It is just older blood. Have you ever seen dried blood on clothing? Notice that it is brown after a little while. Same thing here.

Sometimes for me it is too...but not all the time. I think it's normal...not anything serious. But if you don't get some real answers, then I would most definitely talk to a doctor.
