I never kept the fact I have an attraction to guys a secret. I just acted like it was completely normal (and at my age,it sorta is) and brought it up casually.
If you've been going out of your way to keep it a secret, then you can go out of your way to tell them, and someone else can tell you how to do that. But I've never done either. Just let it come up.
For example if they mention something about a girlfriend, just say 'or boyfriend'. If they make a big deal out of it,that's their fault, and they'll be feeling stupid later.

Wow. That would be tricky! I don't envy whoever this person is, because it's just not easy regardless. I guess the best way to handle it would be to perhaps simply tell your family that you are bisexual, you are perfectly happy with your decision and you'll either have a male or a female partner and can only ask they be happy for you! Perhaps that way, the support and understanding will come later!
Good luck!

You know I came out to my parents about being bisexual when I was 14yrs old, I recently turned 30 and they still don't accept or like it. I don't regret telling them as it's apart of who I am.
For you, you should weigh up your situation. How old are you? I was only 14 but I had somewhere to go had my parents kicked me out of home. If you are only very young, do you have somewhere to go if you aren't accepted? Will it make your home life too difficult? You know your family and friends the best. What are their views on the GLBT community? It is up to you however and I wish you luck in your decision.

i'm bi-sexual myself, why does your family have to know??
but if ya must say something, just say this is the way i feel, i like girls and guys, then they'll say that's nice,
then with a more stern voice and wide open eyes, you slowly repeat, no your not getting it, I LIKE GIRLS AND GUYS,
then they cry do a three stooges round about on the floor, and beat their head against the wall.
if their cool, they'll say after being stern the second time, OH THAT'S NICE............

TUBEROOT IS ABSOLUTELY RIGHT!!! give him 10 points! why submit your life for approval? unless you are in a serious male/male relationship and you want to introduce him to the fam, why make waves? especially if you are under 18 and living in their house. no need for your life to be an open book. wait til u move out. you will still be bi whether they like it or not so you might as well just live in peace for a few more years.

the finest thanks to respond to that's via declaring, in simple terms be your self. do not attempt to immitate anybody or celeb, in simple terms be your self. even as a guy and woman both get the 'sense' like the air of secrecy connection, both of them are a journey for another. you'll know even as a guy fairly needs you, always.

I would be honest with them about your sexual orientation. For me, it took me a few years to come out of the closet with my family, and when I did they told me they knew it anyway.

Why should you? I wouldn't make a move until I got out of there.
But why the need to tell them everything?

Well, you should consider admitting yourself to a mental home where they can administer drugs to make you straight again.
