Is an Aries more compatible with a Scorpio or a Cancer?

An interesting question in that as you probably already know neither of these signs would be classed as greatly compatible with Aries in Sun Sign astrology. ARies is a Fire sign. Scorpio and Cancer are Water.
Aries and Cancer are Cardinal signs. They’re both self-asertive but Aries in a more outward and direct way. Cancer is emotionally assertive but less direct in manner. Aries and Cancer are square to each other suggesting some tension in their two energies. Scorpio is a Fixed sign. Scorpios are serious and determined and focused. Aries will be focused as long as something interests them. Scorpio wants to finish what they start. Aries doesn't always do this. Cancer will stick at anything they get their claws into too. Cancer is sensitive and emotional. Scorpio too is a person of passion but Scorpio is a powerful sign and is probably more able to hold their own when with an Arian.
