Here's a chart you can go by to determine your weight:

For every 5" add 105 pounds.
For every inch after that, add 5 pounds.

This should give you a good average. Doctors use this chart to determine weight all the time.

Good Luck!

A simple unreliable guide... your BMI should be between 18.5 and 24.9 so for your height that's somewhere between 64 kg and 78kg.

Hey, but I am 5'11 1/2"... and I weight 85 kg..... that's all solid muscle and lean muscle fibre.. well maybe that is... except for a few kg of fat around the middle that I am working on over the next few months....... :-)

Anyway.. point is..... the ideal weight for your height depends on how much lean muscle tissue you have developed over hte years. I have, for example, been a competitive swimmer and have trained hard for many years, until kids consumed my freedom...... but if you have been a couch potato all your life chances are that the only muscle you have used to extreme are the little ones in your thumbs, so your bulk will not have developed from muscle structure, rather from the storage of exess energy in the form of fat. Muscle is a greater mass than fat... so the ideal weight for a person of your height is a nonsense.

From that perspective, it is best to measure your % body fat (I use calipers) rather than your overall weight. It's unhealthy to have none... you need at least 2% -4% for vital organs.... see this link for example.... http://www.bmi-calculator.net/body-fat-calculator/body-fat-chart.php

61 kg (135 lb). Nourish your body thin, instead of starving your body fat. Good carbs like celery and carrots will never make you fat. Bad carbs like cake will, but you don't need to know the whole science of glycemic load. You need to re-learn how to eat so you can become thin and healthy. Salt has no calories but makes you fat and burning more calories does not help this fatness.

Find out about fastest way to lose weight, most effective exercise, good and bad fats, water retention and secret trick used by models to flatten their tummy before an event. Reading a book will take you hours but the information on a post, taking minutes to read, is not enough. The webpage below has just enough to know what you need to know. Links page has gov. BMI calculator to find out just how much overweight you are (teens plug in your age to compare to others your age).

You can force your body to lose weight with not enough calories, but if you continue it, you will starve to death. With an abundance of healthy foods, you lose weight just as fast, but only until you reach your ideal weight. You can continue eating this way the rest of your life and always be at your ideal weight.
