Most will say Gettysburg because of the ghost stories. I've visited some of them and so far Antietam has been the most interesting. I'd like to work my way further south tho.

That sounds pretty cool Rabbit. I've always wondered how interesting it would be to go to one. The only one I ever saw was on South Park lol.

Chickamauga is a great battlefield to visit. If you go, go during the summertime heat!

Another good one not far from Gettysburg is New Market. It's RIGHT off 1-81. It's not the best preserved field, I think. Hell, there's an interstate right next to it. But it's a very interesting battlefield. The museum has a great film, too. Very good story. I won't spoil it for you if you don't know about it already!

If you're ever in the Chattanooga area, too, it's worth a stop off (if you can find it) to visit Silverdale Confederate Cematary. It's one of the first Chattanooga exits when you're heading south on i-75. Get off that exit, hang 2 rights, and keep an eye out for the cemetary gate on your right. It's easy to find, but very easy to miss. A google search for it might reveal some directions. It's nothing spectacular. No headstones, but it's an interesting stop if you're in the area anyways. easy on/easy off if you're travelling the interstate.

Yes, I think Gettysburg is interesting but I am from Pennsylvania. I also believe there are very interesting battleground sites at Antietam , the area around Richmond Virginia, Shiloh, Tennessee and the area ehere they fought the battle of the Wilderness, and Vicksburg, Mississippi.

I would like to see them all. The only one I have visited is Vicksburg. This kinda broke the back of the south during this siege. Since my great grandpa was captured at Vicksburg and exchanged 3 days later, this place is kinda special. The actual spot where he was captured has some monuments there but it is in a very out of the way place. He also fought at Shiloh and Corinth.

Vicksburg apparently sold off some of the battle ground in the past because in the middle of the area is a Jewish cemetery. Very interesting place. You could spend at very full day seeing just what is there.
