my girlfriend is on the pill. she only needs to take 1 more pill to be on her period but would it be bad if she started a new pack of pills instead of taking the non-hormonal pills?

That would depend on the kind of pill she is taking. Some have varying doses of different hormones throughout the cycle, and in some others, the non-sugar tablets have a constant dose of hormone/s.
For the first type of pill it is fairly complicated to miss a cycle as you have to say take the first 5 pills from a packet, then the first 5 from the next packet, then 6-10 of the first pack then 6-10 of the second, etc and it still doesn't garantee you will miss your period.
The second is easier as, if you don't take the sugar pills, she should miss her period BUT breakthrough bleeding (like a mini period) is possible. And her next period could be heavier than normal.
In past times women didn't have 13 cycles every year, in part due to pregnancies, poor health, etc. and certain cancers were less prevelent, mostly of the reproductive systems. The theory is that the artificial hormones may simulate certain cells into mutant growth, in those with the genetic pre-disposition..

I tried that before, I skipped the sugar pills and went straight to a new pack.

FYI, if she does this there will be breakthrough bleeding and her period will take a few pill packs to actually start when her period should while on the pills.

It took ME several months (at least four months) for me to start getting back on track with my period and it still isn't fully on track yet.

I would not recommend doing this at all. If she does, expect to not get her period while on the sugar pills for at least a few months.

I also would not recommend the depo shot. I was on it for four years and had weight gain, mood swings, and bleeding at odd times. You also need a bone density check after five years of being on it as it really screws with your bone health.

Hi
Ur girlfriend can take Non harmonal pills but I think you should better consult a specialist or a docter who can guide you more better.
She doesnt need to take that last pill if you want to change the pack.

on recommendation from my gynie, i was told i could skip the white pills, to avoid a period if needed. i did it for 4 years. however i dont recommended it without a doctors say so. But, just once i don't think would hurt

if you never want a period again, try the depo injection. its a 3 month birth control shot.

It would be better to allow for the body to do its natural thing. There is something wrong with asking about periods online. Now it's about being on the rag. What is next, I don't want to know. I have had it with this stupid forum.
