No problem, there's always I and I created y'all 4 milliseconds ago. When I get tired of y"all I'll use the disposal and create something 6 degree different.

"Solipsism (Latin: solus, alone + ipse, self) is the philosophical idea that 'My mind is the only thing that exists'. Solipsism is an epistemological or metaphysical position that knowledge of anything outside the mind is unjustified. The external world and other minds cannot be known and might not exist."

Pretty stupid, I think.

Assuming Descartes is right and that 'cogito, ergo sum' (I think, therefore I am), then the only way that I can be sure that I exist is to know that I am thinking. Since I can never know that anyone else is thinking, I can never be sure of their actual existence.

Because of this, solipsism is the only rational answer.

I'm all into philosophy and its subdivisions particularly ontology and existentialism but there are such branches of metaphysics (such as solipsism) that draw into a matrix that creates paradoxes in our mind. this is the study of epistemology and is interesting to look into but sometimes it's best not to know. Ignorance is bliss so I would recommend you satisfy your Hourglass of Curiosity quite quickly and never look back again.

Yeah, its scary, but y'know, its true. How many people are married to each other, and yet dont reallly know each other. I mean one day they wake up all grey and wrinkled and Maud says to Burt "what do you mean, you always dreamed of surfing in Maui?"
We might infer from observation, but we can never really, really know what something means to another person, because we can never experience the sum of thier experiences from thier persepctive.
Yup, scary - and really isolating if you buy into it too much.
