i hear people talk about Ares and limewire all the time what i dont get is If its illegal then why do they have it on the Internet and if its illegal why isnt the Government doing something bout it then. and ive read it where it was legal as long as u dont use it for illegal use

The actual program: Limewire and Ares are legal.
If you upload copyrighted material and you download it, then it's illegal. If you upload and download non-copyrighted material, then it's legal.
It all depends on what you upload and download.

If you use it to upload and download copyrighted material, it's not a crime against the state, so it's not the government's responsibility to press charges. It falls on whoever owns the copyright.

As far as I know your on the ball. Filesharing is legal if the content you access on it can be legally shared.
