It doesnt, check out the video below, you will be very cautions the next time your at an internet cafe.....The section on security starts 13 minutes into the video....Even if their network was encrypted, each person that has the password to connect to the network has access to your pc, and this can be done with free software on the internet.....

I think theres more on episode 5 or 6, they talk about how vulnerable you are on a university network....kinda scary...

The easiest way is to use a wireless gateway with the security you want built into it.

It is designed to do just what you asked, All the wireless clients can be isolated from the LAN and thus they do not connect to your system just to the internet!

There are of course more expensive ones that do the same thing. You probably can still find some Proxim 2500's which also do this for you.
