I think you are just being facetious...
but I will play your game..
The answer is more emotional than logical.
It is called 'guilt by association'. Although Jeb Bush could become a great President...there would be too much of his brother that comes into mind with the American People. Proof: Look at the person who answered above me.
I think Americans want a fresh perspective.

maximum persons of the american voters are registered Democrats. Mainstream Democrats (Reagan Democrats) have crossed over in the final 2 elections to vote for Bush by using no self belief in Gore and Kerry. till something dramatically differences for the extra appropriate in Iraq via election time, i don't think of he will run. he will wait yet another 4 years to run against the checklist of the incumbent Democrat till Giulliani wins. Then that's going to be 8 years.

He hasn't announced yet because he's not running, at least not in '08 - he's stated that publicly several times. (And his name is Jeb, not Jed.)

I was expecting him to run too, but seeing where his brother's approval rating is, it might be a bit of a challenge. He still might run though, definitely has some upsides to it, having a similar mindset and all.
