if you have the third root of a^12 is the answer a^9 or a^4 EXPLAIN
(a^x)^3 = a^12
3log(a^x) = 12log(a)
log(a^x) = 4log(a)
a^x = a^4
Another way:
a^12 = (a*a*a*a)(a*a*a*a)(a*a*a*a) = a^4*a^4*a^4

or if you have the sixth root of a^2 is the answer the third root of 2?
(a^x)^6 = (a^2)
6log(a^x) = 2log(a)
log(a^x) = (2/6)log(a) = (1/3)log(a)
a^x = a^(1/3)

One more: if you have the square root of the third root of 16(a^3) wat's the answer

the square root of the third root is the 6th root.
2^6 = 16, so 16^(1/6) = 2
(a^3)^(1/6) = a^(1/2)
Putting them together you have
((16(a^3))^(1/3))^(1/2) = 2a^(1/2)

a square root is x^1/2
a third root is x^1/3

if you take the 3rd root of a^12 it equals a^12/3 = a^4

third root means instead of a pair (like square root) we need three of the same factors to remove ONE in front.
So, There are four sets of "three factors"..
(aaa)(aaa)(aaa)(aaa).. so it will be a^4.

third root of (aaa) = a
