Daibutsu in Nara, Japan is called "the Image of Great Buddha" in English. Why isn't it "the Statue of Great Buddha? Does Image deffer from Statue?

An image can be any representation. A painting, a 3-d hologram, or a statue.

The term image is used to portray a more religious feeling.
