Always on time or even before the due date. Why pay extra money in interest or late fees? It's a responsible habit to get into and makes life less stressful when every month you don't have to worry about beating the late dates on several bills. It's very good for your credit rating too!

Yes, I always pay my bills about a week early. And I pay my credit card balances off in full every month.

Most of the time, I pay mine on time and online, I'm about 3 days late right now on my water, but everything else is paid.

In general, you should send payment by the due date.

Otherwise you end up paying MORE than the original amount. For example, utility companies charge late fines...and credit card companies charge interest on the amount borrowed.

I TRY to pay them on time. Sometimes I will write the check and forget to mail the damn thing. But, my husband is pretty much on top of things and he will remoind me that we have to pay the bill.

Used to have a problem with it because the payment dates were different. Started letting the bank do automatic draft payments for everything. Such a relief! They take care of all of it.

especially on my water bill, one day late.. 25 dollar late fee! YIKES!
