Strictly based on ability, it is possible if Delhomme gets off to a slow start in 2007. Carr, when he stays on his feet can play really well but thats been his biggest problem over the years because his O-line in Houston Stunk and he was sacked time after time. Atleast the Panthers have a pretty reliable backup now which is something we have not had in God knows how long.....

Much Better than not taking over for Delhomme. He is, top to bottom, better than Del in all phases of the game. Carr was stuck in an organization that doesn't have a clue on what makes a successful team. Carr had no line and no adequate game plan to work with. He would have been better off in Oakland the past two seasons. He will do better anywhere else, than the Texans will with anyone. Detroit, Arizone and Oakland will make the playoffs before Houston does, and that is because of who runs these organizations. Yes, Carr will become the starter.

Based on ability not injury.. If Delhomme has a bad start.. they'll play Carr. That's what they're expecting. The Panthers are looking for their QB of the future in Carr. So if Delhomme burns out, Carr will get the starting job if not next season, the year after. If not, Carr could be a decent 3rd round trade option if he gets some Schuab-like playing time.

If Delhomme plays like he did last year, I'd say Carr's chances are pretty pretty good. Probably why he chose Carolina, the best shot at starting.

If Jake Delhomme goes 0-4. David Carr is still unproven though, and he may surprise alot of people. He has never had a good line, and that may be all he needs. Jake struggled last year, he may be on the hot seat. GOCOLTS!!

Depends on how Delhomme does at the beginning of this season. If he played like he did at the end of the season of last season, then I think that Carr will replace him.

i think 10%, i really think last year was a fluke for delhomme and he will bounce back this year...carr is a very talented quarterback whose confidence is most likely shot after the debacle with the texans, so i think it will be more difficult for him than most seem to think to bounce back

ive always loved delhome,he is the back-up that made it to the big game.but as far as pure talent i do belive with an offensive line that knows what block means he can really excell.speaking of carr.the guy never had a chance to make it in houstin,no coaching and (no) offensive line.he could get to carolina and be the star he was to be,and prove the so called experts wrong.
