Players are selected on the basis of their past records and ignoring their current performance.
To avoid such situation again in future, I have a suggestion,
Two categories should be made, juniors and seniors. Juniors from school level and seniors from higher secondary onwards up to university and club level players from entire country.
Marks, or say points should be given to each player
after each mach is played. Marks should be given on the basis of the performance or say contribution made by the player in all the three sections i.e fielding, bowling, and batting and the ranking on the basis of such marks is to be given.
At the time of selecting a team, those who have performed well and are on the top of the list should be selected automatically. If any player is not fit physically at the time of selection, the player having immediate next number in the list should be given a chance.
This procedure, if applied, it will give more transparency. We can get best performing player

From these two categories, players should be selected for national level cricket. For selecting players from any of these categories, a software should be developed, which can automatically update player's records as per their individual performance in each match played by that player. We will get a handy merit list and accordingly only by giving command to computer, players whoes current performance is good will get selected automatically. This will also
encourage youths to give allround performance since ponts are given on allround performance. So we can get good allrounder players and that can also reduce dependence on any perticular player. How do you like it?

You are right, your suggestion should be valued and to be implemented immediately to see our Indian team prospects. But, alas! BCCI doesn't received your suggestion yet. Your attachment is lost on the way.

Best suggestions.
I have forwarded it to Sunil Gavaskar on your behalf.
I am afraid, BCCI will put it in a waste paper basket.

Your suggestions are good raman.

But, BCCI is not a place for sincere observers like us. They will only go by what their advertisement companies are saying.

My opinion is more county style teams and the which wins has to be the national team.
