We have allowed the government to become too big and centralized. The government is intruding in our lives more than it is allowed to do. For example, legislation like the Patriot Act, Real ID Act, Military Commissions Act, and John Warner Defense Act. The federal government has gotten involved with state and local issues with things like the No Child Left Behind Act. We have politicians that feed us lies everyday, and we buy them. America has forgotten about the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. We do not cherish our freedoms. We are trading liberty for safety, and not realizing that is how dictators like Hitler came to power. America has forgotten what she was founded upon individual liberty and freedom. As a result, we have a corrupt government ran by even more corrupt politicians.

There is an old saying that, "Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely". The problem with the country is that the government is corrupt. All branches are. They are corrupt because the have too much power. They have too much power because they keep getting re-elected. The cause of this is because of the way election campaigns are funded. The candidates accept contributions from vested interests (the "special interests" that Hillary talks about but from whom she accepts money). Then when they get in office, these contributors get "access" to the elected official. So they can present their ideas. If you contribute enough to a President's campaign you can "buy" an Ambassador's position in a country where you want to do business. So you will make money and manipulate policy too. Another thing that is wrong is that the "bills" that the congress vote on are amended so many times that bac laws are able to "sneak" through. A member of congress votes for a bill but it contains bad amendments and they become law too. The president has no mechanism to veto the amendments, that would be the "Line Item Veto". Bush is the most corrupt President this country has ever had. The armed invasion of Iraq is to steal their oil and put money in the hands of the suppliers of munitions and support for the military. Defense, in this country is not a goal, it is a means of getting rich. We are the most war like nation on earth. Maybe it would be better if we did not elect a President with a Military history. Maybe it would be better if we did not re-elect the same professional politicians over and over again.

Congress let Bush have way too much power. The GOP sat on their thumbs and let Bush take us to a horrible war with no good outcome. And, the notion of checks and balances no longer exists in our government. There is too much power on the far right in our government and in our media.

There is no responsibility from this administration. Everyone is passing the buck. When Valerie Plame was outed, no one took responsibility. When there were no WMD's found, no one took responsibility. When it was discovered the attorneys were fired because they were told not to investigate Republicans, which is against the law, no one took responsibility.

It's an administration of incompetence and irresponsibility. That is what is wrong...
