I think that if you really truly love someone regardless of their sex, race, or religion beliefs you should be able to be married. So many people now days get married and don't know what love really is. Marriage is a bond between two people that vow to each other that they will stick it out with each other through good and bad. If you find true love you are one of the lucky ones :)

You can marry a gay person, a Catholic, a sheep or an end table inside your head .. .but marriage is a legal state.that is currently defined with some limited exceptions as being between one man and one woman who commit to each other for life. It's changing in a few places (Canada, some US states) but this is the basic deal in the US as of now. Strictly as a definition, that's where you begin.

Sounds good to me. We've been together for over 36 yrs., and I see marriage as a partnership. You're a team. You're not just there for the good times and the beer. You cover each other's backs. You support each other.

Hell, anyone could hang in there for the good times.

People who stay together are people who have a sense of benevolence and forgiveness; people who realize that we're all just human and prone to make mistakes.

And as regards same-sex couples, any couple of any gender that can keep a relationship together for 7 years is "beating the odds" for divorce.

Face the ugly statistics; heteros have not done all that well in keeping things together. Why should they claim the right to set standards?

I don't think you should marry a family member, but a marriage, to me, is two ppl who love each other enough to want to spend the rest of their lives together (preferrably in happiness). I don't care if your gay, les, straight, whatever.

Can I marry my sister? (I'm a female) I love her and then I can get free insurance too!! Yea!! My friend can marry her sister too! They live together and don't believe in love nor do they plan on marrying. I would help them too. They love each other. Then they can have the dream of having children and not raising the children all by themselves.

As do I. Everyone yearns for commitment---it's human nature. Love is a beautiful thing---no matter who is in love with who. It should be celebrated through marriage.

A partnership between two people. It isn't always 50-50, but it is still a partnership.
