Sometimes, a hair gets curled and grows the wrong direction causing folliculitis ( infection of the hair follicle), and an abscess with pus will form. Try putting hot wet wash cloths on the area or a hot bath 3 times a day for 30 minutes. Usually a head will form and then the abscess will drain, the entrapped ingrown hair is easily removed and things will heal. This can occur in 7-10 days. If you don't take steps to correct this, the abscess will get worse with increased size, tenderness and infection. Should this occur, a doctor will need to incise the area, to drain the pus, may have to insert some packing and put you on a course of antibiotics. This is not an STD. After this is resolved, shave with the grain of the hair and use a new blade every time. This helps prevent future ingrown hair to occur. Some people get these no matter what they do. If that is the case, don't shave, It's not worth it. Get better soon. Hot bathes (not too hot of course) and or hot wet compresses can be all that's needed but you need to do this asap. Things will get better.

it's not a STD, just one of your hair follicles that got infected after you shaved. this can happen with any hair follicle (like on a man's face.) be sure you are shaving "with" the growth of the hair. also, to prevent this from happening again, shave with a benzoyl peroxide soap (found over the counter at drug store.) a low strength bpo will sterilize the follicle so this is less likely to happen. should it happen again, apply bacitracin to the area several times a day until the infection clears. you might consider buying "nair" or a similar product next time to prevent this from happening again.
good luck!

It sounds like an ingrown hair,a hair that decided to grow inward instead of up. It may be infected ,go to a doctor and have it lanced.
