The exhibits aren't really geared for kids under five, but it wouldn't be a problem to bring the tot along. I'm sure he'll be able to find something to crawl or climb on and will enjoy just looking at the bright colors and hearing new sounds. It's a very family-friendly place, so don't worry about him being too loud or anything. I remember going there when I was about five and it was really an amazing place. I hope your kids (and you) have fun!

the museum is really geard towards school age kids. When I was younger, we all went there when we were in grades 4th - 5th. there is really nothing for a 1 year old to do, but they probably won't care if it cries and makes a fuss. the exploratorium is really known as a kids interactive muesum for science.

By "Toddler Friendly", if you mean will they be annoyed if your 1-year-old yells and causes a racket? No - you'll be fine. Will your toddler get anything out of the visit? Hrrrrmmm.... maybe. Your 5-year-old will have a blast, though!
