I always see questions about pubic hair, underarm hair, penis length, body weight, and body lenght from kids about 12-15 years old. Why do you think they ask complete strangers on Y! Answers for puberty questions and not their parents or another trusted adult.

Kids are intensely self-conscious about their bodies and too deeply embarrassed to talk about the things they are curious about. The adults in their life seem hopelessly old and out of touch; remember how dumb your parents were when you were 14? (It's so nice that they got smart again as soon as you were through puberty....) And these kids are too self-absorbed to look and see if anyone else asked the same question five minutes ago.

On the Internet they can be anonymous. They can also brag without being found out; thus the questions like "I'm 14, and my penis is 15.674"--is that small?" There are also a lot of relationship questions that have no connection to Men's Health asked here that belong in Single and Dating.

All this is very tiresome for adults, and it might be better if there were dedicated teen health sites, not just Men's Health and Women's Health.

because of the anonymity. Hell, if I had the internet when I was younger, you bet your butt I would be on here asking all sorts of questions... But instead, I had to sneak in the anatomy books at the library when no one else was looking.

Then again, if I had the net back then, I would probably be surfing porn too... And that, imo is a pretty big problem for today's youth.

Because parents are to embarrassed to talk to there children about sex or anything for that matter.

Why are they having kids if they cant talk to them.

I find this a good place to ask questions because when i was growing up we had no computer to ask questions.

so this is a place for good information...
