First off, a good classic would be The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton. Another one that is fairly new (I don't know if you could find it or not) is You Can't Get There From Here. It is kind of depressing or sad, but it also has some good action in it. Gordon Korman has a TON of action books. They usually come in trilogies, and have one-word titles such as 'Dive' or 'Everest'. These are very good. You also might want to take a look at Surviving the Applewhites by Stephanie Tolan. It might not be what you are looking for, but it is a really good book, and with realistic characters and stuff.

I suppose you would consider these books 'guy' books, but I enjoyed them too...

I teach Jr. High, so I tend to keep up with teen books. Over spring break I read a new young adult novel that I just loved. It is called "Life as we knew it" by Susan Beth Pfeffer and it's written as a diary of a 16 year old girl writing about how her family is surviving an asteroid crashing into the moon and all the devastation it causes on Earth. It's pretty thought-provoking, exciting and I really couldn't put it down. Even though it's written by a girl character, the book would be good for a guy to read too. The girl's 2 brothers are main characters aged 14 and 19 and you might identify with them and their struggles. Happy reading!!

I would recommend Jules Verne, Red Badge of Courage, Mark Twain. I dont think many authors today are writing books for teen guys unless its like Sci Fi or
Fantasy. Plenty of those out there. You might like Anne Mc Caffrey's Pern series. Pax - C.

Try anything by Gary Soto, Gary Paulsen or Walter Dean Myers. Also, My Bloody Life is fantastic, it's graphic, but I loved it. Also, maybe you will like The Godfather by Mario Puzo, it's a great read.

*Harry Potter series (J.K. Rowling)
*The Outsiders (S.E. Hinton)
*Angels and Demons (Dan Brown)
*The HALO series (Eric Nylund)
...they're all really good books. take your pick, but Angels and Demons is kind of lengthy
