The image of Death charging across a field on his spectral steed would strike fear into the heart of almost any man. The appearance of the Death card has a similar effect on most people, though it really should not. Whether you like it or not, Death is one of the most powerful cards in the Tarot. Humans naturally fear the unknown, and so Death is our greatest fear since it is the greatest unknown. The majority of us are unaware that our mind and spirit die all the time, constantly shedding old beliefs and acquiring new ones. It has been said many times by many readers: the Death card is not a card of death - it is a card of transformation.

In Tarot the answers depend on where they are in the drawn pattern as to what effect or when what this card governs as to what it means. The card has a positive or negative meaning even if it is upright or upside down. And no it doesn't mean you are going to die. This card often means change sometimes through strong force.

No. The death card in tarot means change and transition. It's position in the layout can give you answers to the type of change and transition it's referring to. There is a card in the tarot deck that signifies literal death of the physical body, but it's not the death card.

Numerology is any belief in divine, mystical or other special relationship between a number and some coinciding events. It's an occult science that I consider fascinating. I started to study numerology because of my obsession with Mathematics, Geometry. What I discovered it's really incredibble.

Death, in all forms of devination and interpritaion (like of dreams and visions), has a general meaning of change. Most tarot dictonaries list the Death card as massive hard change. It can also mean the death of an idea, an era, a hard change in thoughts.

Generally not. The first thing you need to understand is that it needs to be read in the context of the entire reading. Each position in the reading means something, and it's about the relationship of the cards to each other in thier positions in the reading, not just the meanings of the cards themselves. But I think most readers give it an interpretation of a great change coming, a dying to one facet of your life, and rebirth in to a new one, not a literal bodily death. All that melodramatic stuff about a seer pulling the death card, and you're going to die any minute, is more about Hollywood movies than anything. I would be more concerned about drawing the tower card, myself....

No. What it means is that something in your life either has or will be ending soon and that something else will be taking its place. The death card in the tarot indicates a transition where in order for something new to come into your life, something old has to leave.

no its not.
the death card may signify something is about to end like for example a problem that a person has will eventually be resolved.
this is pretty much the same as lying on a coffin in ones dream. It means that the person who dreamt will eventually let go of his or her old self and start a new life.
