I'm a former Christian, and even when I was a Christian, my family never really celebrated Easter. Is Easter a time for celebration? Am I'm not talking about that dumb bunny either. I guess I just find it weird.

I guess that's really up to each family to make its own tradition.
My family always has and so has my husband's-- and so do we.

I am a former Christian, too. Depending on ones viewpoint, I suspect Easter is either the most or second most important Christian holiday. It celebrates Jesus's victory over death -- the ultimate proof of His holiness and His stature in The Holy Trinity. It is the rally cry for the believers. Without the "resurrection" (which could have been someone's hallucination, or someone's poetic metaphor), it is not likely Christianity would have grown legs to last this long.

Christmas celebrates the beginning of Christianity. Easter celebrates the proof that it is "the truth and the way".

I have a relationship with Christ and do not celebrate Easter. It comes in a nice religious package from the Catholic church but is nothing more than a pagen festival disguised as a celebration of Christs resurrection. No Good Friday Jesus was crucified on a Wed. Hence the 3 days and 3 nights. Can I ask what happened that you no longer have a relationship with the Lord? Either way He is waiting for you with open arms. Come back and repent. Peace out.........

My family has always celebrated Easter with eggs and candy and big fluffy bunnies. Church on Easter Sunday is always a big deal, and the whole family usually gets together at my grandparent's for Easter lunch.

Yes people ACTUALLY celebrate Easter. It celebrates the Resurrection of Christ not some Bunny. You weren't a very good Christian if you didn't know that. And what's weird about it?

I am a Christian. My family will have breakfast, my daughter will open her Easter-basket along with her cousin, they will hunt for the eggs we dyed and then we will go to church.

We celebrate Easter because it's the event that created our faith. Easter is the day that Christ arose from the dead, defeating death and sin and provided a way for all of us to be with God.

While it may seem a morbid thing to celebrate, if you can understand the great gift that was given to all of us, it's easy to see why it's a celebration.

Christ is not dead, He is alive, just as we will be if we accept God's gift of grace through Christ as well.

May God bless you and your family.

Raised Christian, the only thing my family ever really did was get me a basket full of goodies (and steal some of the goodies back! hehehe), and have dinner at my gramma's house.
The past few years (I'm 22 now), we haven't done anything at all, really. My dad still buys me candy once in a while, but that's about it haha. This year, it'll be just another day for me :)
