The best antifungal that has actually shown healing in trials is Tea Tree Oil or Melaleuca.
I've found it works by applying it to the infected toe, without polish on, until the uninfected nail begins to grow out.
It helps to keep the nail clipped as far down as possible and allowed to 'breathe'. Apply 100% straight oil at least twice a day, more if the area gets wet. It takes the nail about three months to grow out.

Hey Shawn, toenail fungus is indicative of an internal yeast infection. Shut down your refined sugar consumption and cut those toenails back as far as you can. Get them out in the sunshine. The greatest healer on the planet is the sun. It is probably one of, if not the most, potent disinfectant to be found. If you think about how to make bread, you have to use sugar to make the yeast grow. So, cut off it's source and you'll find the fungus going away in no time.
Best of luck, my friend.

Tea tree oil/malaleuca oil may work for treating toenail fungus, but have a care using it. It can have side effects, and should not be used in the ears, for example. Read the link below for details.

Actually I looked this up on the net and one writer claimed that putting two drops of white vinegar twice daily on your nail around the cuticle kills the fungus and it takes awhile to get rid of it because you have to keep cutting the nail off until it is gone. I started this treatment several weeks ago and am already seeing results. Going to stick with it because any meds. that I have seen that are supposed to work take a long time as well.

Unfortunately, this case just doesn't go away with supplement. Using medication/natural supplements is just a temporary band-aid, and it comes back.
You need a treatment that combines
diet +supplements/medications.
Diet:
Eliminate anything that feeds yest, e.g. sugar, refined carbohydrates. Rely on green veggies, lean proteins, and fresh juices. Try low-glycemic fruits, e.g. black berry, blueberry - not more than two serving /day.
Supplements:
Take one teaspoon of acidophilus mixed In water on an empty stomach in the morning and at night.
External treatment-
Apply tea tree oil /thyme oil /oregano oil to the affected nail, 3times /day.

Go to your local pharmacy and ask for Daktarin Tincture - you apply it after each bath/shower when your toe is clean and it is applied like a nailpolish. the tincture encourages the nail to grow and eventually the fungal part will be destroyed leaving nice fresh nails. DO NOT apply normal nail polish during this time and applied twice a day will be best. keep your nails short and soon you will notice the difference. --- thongs / sandals / stilletos - her we come girl.
